City of Grand Island/Hall County to Host Chaplain Pinning Ceremony

Grand Island, Neb. — The City of Grand Island is pleased to invite the community to a special Chaplain Pinning Ceremony honoring the dedicated individuals who serve our first responders and residents with compassion, guidance and faith.

The ceremony will take place on Wednesday, November 19 at 4:30 p.m. at the Law Enforcement Center, located at 111 Public Safety Drive. The meaningful event will recognize the vital role chaplains play in supporting the emotional and spiritual well-being of the men and women who serve and protect the community. Whether offering words of comfort during times of crisis, lending a listening ear in moments of stress, or providing guidance grounded in faith and empathy, chaplains stand alongside first responders and community members through some of life’s most challenging moments.

The ceremony will include remarks from public safety officials and members of the chaplain corps. Each honoree will be formally recognized and “pinned” as a symbol of their commitment to serving others through the ministry of chaplaincy. The program will highlight not only their personal dedication but also the enduring partnership between faith-based service and public safety in Grand Island.

“The chaplain program reflects the heart of community service,” Grand Island Police Chief Kevin Denney said. “It’s a reminder that compassion and care are just as essential to public safety as courage and action. This ceremony allows us to express gratitude for those who quietly make a profound difference every day.”

A small reception will follow the ceremony, offering attendees an opportunity to meet the chaplains and express appreciation for their service. The event is open to the public, and all community members are warmly invited to attend.
